Telling it like it is. Great call to arms but how will we fight? Like you, I bet PSH would have some ideas. We'll get there.

That's the question, isn't it. Each person has to decide what he or she can do. Here's a few ideas:

1. Call our congresspeople and bug the hell out of them. There's an app that makes it easy. It's called 5 calls. It connects to their Washington offices and gives you a script to read. We'll have to get their state office numbers by ourselves.

2. Talk about what's going on out loud to everyone. We need to be vocal about how wrong what is happening is. Some Trump supporters are not going to like their personal information being stolen. Others won't care. But we have to be loud about all this.

3. Go to protests.

4. Join Bernie's Our Movement. He's been fighting this fight for a long time. There must be other groups as well.

5. Stay informed.

6. Be with your people. Support each other.

6. When you can, give money to groups who are fighting for us.

7. This situation is evolving, so we need to stay fluid. What we need to do will change.

Great piece! I loved Philip Seymour Hoffman.

You actually can get the local numbers for your legislators from the 5 calls app. Click the three dots to the right of their DC number.

To your list of stuff you can do I would add:

1) Shop local as much as you can and buy less stuff to begin with. Keep your money in your community as much as you can. Consider if it’s right for you to move your money to a credit union.

2) Join boycotts of Target and other major corporations. But don’t just boycott. Let them know you are boycotting and why.

3) Watch out for people of color being harassed in public spaces. It’s on the rise. Put your white body in front of theirs. Video with your phone. Don’t allow it.

4) If you have any friends or family that voted for 47, check on them and see where they’re at. If they can be reasoned with, reason with them. We need as many of them to come to their senses as possible and join the fight. Anyone that voted for him needs to work twice as hard. And be twice as loud.

5) Find and support independent journalists that you trust. Be vigilant against misinformation. It is coming from the left too.

6) All of these federal workers that are holding the line may need help down the road. I haven’t looked for it yet but I heard there is a fund to support them.

7) Don’t be a naysayer. It’s fine and necessary not to sugarcoat what’s happening but those feelings of hopelessness can cause other people not to act. They want us complacent.

Feel your feelings but maybe journal about them or process them in a way that isn’t going to be discouraging to others. We have to lift each other up right now.
